Service Overview
This type of service includes arrangements to provide funeral services with visitation or prayer service and burial in a cemetery. We contact the church, clergy, musicians, hall, caterer and cemetery on your behalf, and prepare everything the service needs, from the casket and stationery to the guest book.
What this service includes
- Visitation or prayer service
- Funeral service in our chapel or your place of worship
- Coordination with clergy, musicians, hall, caterer and cemetery
- Officiants available if you have no preferred clergy
- Burial in the cemetery of your choice
Funerals fill an important role for those mourning the loss of a loved one. A traditional funeral gives family and friends an atmosphere of care and support in which to share thoughts and feelings about death, and it is the first step in the healing process.
When you meet with us, your funeral director will guide you through how you would like to honour your loved one: the location, date and time of the service, clergy or officiant, eulogy, music selections, scripture readings, slideshow or photo tribute, pallbearers, cemetery and reception. If you do not have a preferred member of clergy, we have individuals within our funeral home who are able to officiate services. An obituary notice is placed on our website (with family approval) and can also be placed with newspapers of your choosing.
Our Process of Care
Receiving your loved one into our care
Day or night, we arrange the transfer of your loved one into our care and make sure the documentation that goes with it is completed.
Meeting with your funeral director
We set an arrangement time that works for your family, in Edson, in Hinton or in your own home, and guide you through each decision without obligation.
Viewing and visitation
We bathe, dress and prepare your loved one with respect. A viewing gives family and friends the chance to say goodbye in their loved one’s presence.
The funeral and committal
We look after every detail of the service, including music, slideshow tributes, pallbearers and the procession to the cemetery.
Paperwork handled for you
We register the death with Vital Statistics, obtain the death certificate and burial permits, notify Canada Pension Plan and help apply for the CPP Death Benefit and Survivor Benefit where applicable.
A year of daily grief support
Our support does not end after the service. Families can sign up to receive a grief support message from us each day for a year.
We are here for you, 24/7
When you need us, we'll be there to guide you through every step with compassion and expertise.
