Service Overview
In some cases, arrangements are made to inter the deceased without a funeral ceremony, although there can, and usually is, clergy at the cemetery to complete the interment.
What this service includes
- No funeral ceremony required
- Clergy at the graveside if you wish
- Transfer, documentation and permits handled for you
- Burial in the cemetery of your choice
A direct burial is a simple way to lay a loved one to rest. There is no funeral ceremony beforehand, though there can, and usually is, clergy at the cemetery to complete the interment.
We arrange the transfer of your loved one into our care, complete the necessary documentation and burial permits, and coordinate with the cemetery. Embalming is not required by law, so a direct burial does not need to include it.
Our Process of Care
Receiving your loved one into our care
Day or night, we arrange the transfer of your loved one into our care and make sure the documentation that goes with it is completed.
Meeting with your funeral director
We set an arrangement time that works for your family, in Edson, in Hinton or in your own home, and guide you through each decision without obligation.
Graveside interment
We coordinate with the cemetery and, if you wish, with clergy to complete the interment.
Paperwork handled for you
We register the death with Vital Statistics, obtain the death certificate and burial permits, notify Canada Pension Plan and help apply for the CPP Death Benefit and Survivor Benefit where applicable.
A year of daily grief support
Our support does not end after the service. Families can sign up to receive a grief support message from us each day for a year.
We are here for you, 24/7
