Patricia Agnes (Pat) Richardson, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, after a brief hospital stay in Hinton, Alberta. She now dwells in the house of the Lord forever, her soul restored to full health and joy (Psalm 23).
Pat and her twin sister, Sylvia, were born on October 12, 1939, in Windermere, BC, to George (Graham) and Ethel Nicholls. Pat had one younger sibling, her sister Margaret.
She lived in Radium Hot Springs and attended Elementary School in Invermere, BC until the family moved to Cranbrook, BC so the girls could attend High School. Upon Finishing High School, Pat attended Business College in Calgary, AB. Which is where she eventually met her future husband, Jack. Pat and Jack were married on April 10, 1965, in Calgary, AB at the Chalmers Presbyterian Church. She continued her education in Calgary and later upgraded her skills in bookkeeping. From there they moved to Hinton, AB and Pat worked for Nelson Plumbing, Cardinal River Coal and the Blue Lake Centre. She was passionate about gardening and especially loved tulips. Pat and Jack were members at Gateway Community Church where they attended faithfully or watched the services on-line for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Steele (Jack) Richardson, her sister Sylvia Chivers, nieces and nephews, Trina Zindler, Mona St.Eloi, Michael St.Eloi, David Chivers, Lisa Chivers, Karen Mitchell, Megan Chivers, and Amy Drabiuk, as well as many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, Graham and Ethel Nicholls, her in-laws Walter and Annie Richardson and her sister Margaret Wilson.
Jack would like to extend a special thanks to the medical staff at the Hinton Healthcare Centre for their kind and compassionate care of Pat during her brief illness and to Sue Guebert for her help during Pat’s hospital stay and navigation of details afterwards.

A Memorial service will be held for Pat on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Gateway Community Church, 101 Douglas Drive, Hinton, AB, Pastor Daniel Peters officiating. A light lunch will follow the service downstairs.
Inurnment of Pat’s ashes will take place in a private family gathering at the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Hinton, AB at a time prior to the Memorial Service.
