Gail Nancy (Willett) Duncan

Gail Nancy Duncan passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by the love of her family and friends after a courageous journey with glioblastoma.

To know Gail was to know warmth. She had a genuine smile that lit up every room she entered and a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her quick wit, sense of humour, and kind heart naturally drew people to her throughout her life. The many friendships she cherished over the years were a reflection of the extraordinary person she was.

Gail embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. She loved trail running, travelling, and reading, and found beauty in both adventure and everyday moments. She had a special talent for making things beautiful; whether decorating her home or creating stylish displays, she had a way of turning ordinary moments into something special.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout her illness, Gail continued to greet family, friends, and caregivers with the same warmth that had always defined her. She smiled despite her pain, remaining gracious, kind, and deeply appreciative of those around her. Her strength and courage throughout her journey were an inspiration to all who loved her.

Gail was predeceased by her husband, Del (Dunc) Duncan; her partner, Will Rushton; and her mother, Kathleen Willett.

She leaves behind her son Michael (Lisa), daughter Kara (Rob), and her grandchildren, Annika, Seamus, Alex, and Ramona who brought her so much pride and joy. She will also be deeply missed by her sister Kathy; nephew Trevor (Dianne); niece Brookley (Christine); and many other loving relatives and friends whose lives she touched.

Our family is exceptionally grateful to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Foothills Medical Centre, Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and Seton General Hospital, with special thanks to Ashley Briggs, for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided.

Gail’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she leaves behind. Her presence made the world brighter, and she will be forever loved and missed.
