In loving memory of Doreen Patterson, known to everyone as “Dot”, who passed away on May 10th, 2021 in Grande Cache, Alberta at the age of 76 years.

Dot was born June 9th, 1944 in Morpeth, England. She attended West Ridge School in Bedlington. She became a tap dancer in her youth, earning multiple certificates. In 1961 she met her husband, Vic and the two were married in 1962. They started their family, with their children arriving in: 1963, 1967, 1969, and 1972. In 1976 Vic and Dot moved their family to Grande Cache, Alberta in the Rocky Mountains along with Dot’s Yorkshire terrier Candy, as well as with her mom Ruby.

Dot was instrumental in starting the Grande Cache children’s soccer league which she coached along with her husband Vic. Dot enjoyed participating in numerous games and leagues, including the legion dart league, the bowling team with her daughter Angela, and enjoyed weekly card games with friends. Her number one passion was bingo and she will always be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as the “Bingo Queen”.

Best friend and sister-in-law, Maureen Patterson, wife of the late Charles Patterson has known Dot since the age of 5 in England. Maureen was the reason behind Dot and Vic’s first meeting.

Known for her Yorkshire puddings, stew and dumplings, the “nice” chocolate cake, fondness of Christmas and love of cats, Dot will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the residents of Grande Cache.
