The official obituary of

Yvonne Marguerite Oshanyk

19480601 — 20261105

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Yvonne Oshanyk, who passed away on November 5, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on June 1, 1948, Yvonne came from a large family, and family remained at the heart of her life. She leaves behind generations of loved ones who will carry her memory, her stories, and her love with them always.

Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nadine (James) Hansen, Robert (Tammy) Oshanyk, Lisa, and Chad; her grandchildren, Shane, Isabelle, Cameron, Cole, Kendra, Russell, Raigen, Brea, Laura, Sara, Jacob, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, John, Oakley, and Hazel.

She is also survived by her siblings, George (Jan), Rick (Linda), Dave, Calvin (Carrie), and Donna (Glenn); her sisters-in-law, Laura, Margo, Lorraine, and Bonnie (Joe); her brother-in-law, Marcy; as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Yvonne will be especially missed by her special bestie, Peggy, whose friendship, companionship, and presence were an important and cherished part of Yvonne’s life.

She will also be fondly remembered by her former daughter-in-law Michelle and former son-in-law John, who shared in many important chapters of her life and remained part of her extended family as well as her many friendship centre family.

Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dennis; her parents, George and Marge; and her siblings, Randy, Shane, Deb, and Trevor.

Yvonne’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind. Through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her love will continue for generations. She will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, the family gatherings, and the countless memories created over a lifetime.

Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have with her and for the memories that will remain with us. There are never enough years with someone you love, but the love they leave behind stays with you forever.

A service celebrating Yvonne’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hinton Centre in Hinton, Alberta.

Rest peacefully, Mom. You are together with Dad again.

You were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure.
