Colleen M. Bodenchuk
August 16, 1932 – October 3, 2026
Colleen was born on August 16, 1932, to John and Mary Jacobson in Mannville, Alberta, she had five siblings in total. Colleen had a sharp eye for the finer things in life; she had an amazing green thumb and spent many tireless hours working in her garden growing dozens of plants. She had a keen eye for colors and loved to paint, write poetry and play music, she was skilled with the organ and the guitar. Hunting and fishing were also great hobbies of hers that she loved dearly. Colleen worked at Templetons Greenhouses for many years as a dedicated employee. She lived in Edson until 1997 when Colleen decided it was time for a change and moved to Lac La Biche, where she passed peacefully on October 3, 2026.
She is predeceased by her husband, William Bodenchuk, her parents John and Mary Jacobson, her children; Danny (June) Bodenchuk, Billy (Shirley) Bodenchuk, Randy Bodenchuk, Roselynn “Shannon” (John) Partington, her siblings Karen (Walter) Schmidck, John (Margaret) Jacobson, and Kathy Simmons.
She is survived by her siblings Marian Berglund and Gail (Jerry) Vankosky, her brother-in-law Arnold Simmons, her daughter-in-law Sandi Bodenchuk, her grandkids, Adrian Bodenchuk, Bill Bodenchuk, Dawn Bodenchuk, Brandin Bodenchuk, Steven Cassidy, Jessica Horsley, Amy Shepard, Mitchell Shepard. As well as numerous great grandchildren, family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 17, 2026, at 1PM in the Foothills Memorial Chapel in Edson, Alberta with interment to follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
There will be no Luncheon following the service.
