VELDHOUSE, Vaughn Claire
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Vaughn on June 22nd, 2013 and joined later in the day by his father, Ray.
Vaughn was born in Fort McMurray on December 27th, 1967. After living in various locations, he settled in Edson in 1999 where he married, raised his family and worked in the oil patch.
The family left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Amanda, his beloved children, Brianna, Travis and Anthony, his mother Diane, his sister Terrill (Mark) Reid, Amanda’s parents Herman and Lorna Rauch, brother – in – law Chris (Nattasha), sister-in – law Jen and numerous nieces, nephews as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Vaughn also leaves behind many friends, many of whom he worked with in the oilfield.
The family wished to acknowledge the special and extended care Vaughn received from the medical staff at the U of A Hospital and a heartfelt thanks to all those people who touched his and Amanda’s life during the past three months.
A memorial service together with his father’s was held at the Royal Canadian Legion 5016 – 5th Ave., Edson, Alberta on Thursday July 4th, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1502 College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2C8 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
A trust fund for Vaughn’s three children is being set up. Details will be forthcoming.
