THOMSON, Valerie Jean
Valerie Jean Thomson died peacefully at the Grande Cache Health Complex in the early morning of December 20th, 2012.
A graduate of the University of Regina, Val taught for a number of years at Grande Cache Elementary School until Multiple Sclerosis forced her retirement. She continued following the paths of her “kids” to adulthood and was proud to say that they had been in her grade 4 class. Val will be greatly missed and remembered with smiles, laughter and love by the Rowbotham, Wilkes and Taylor families to whom she was a special “sister”, sister-in-law, auntie and great auntie”.
Her kind, caring and compassionate nature, and her wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by her many friends, colleagues and former students.
Many thanks to those who showed love and support to Val over the years. She spoke of you as her “angels”. You too were her family and she greatly appreciated all that you did for her.
In keeping with Val’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. If desired donation may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital at 1502 College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2C8 in memory of Valerie Jean Thomson.
