It is with great sadness the family of William Suttill Bennett (Bill) announce his passing at the age of 73 years. Bill was predeceased by his sister Luanne, his parents Eldon and Kay Bennett.
Bill was born on December 2, 1947 to Kay and Eldon Bennett, in Taber, Alberta. The first of nine children. Later they moved to Lovett, where he lived with three more siblings. When it was time for them to go to school, the family moved to Bowness, Alberta. The family continued to grow with two more siblings. When Bill was ten years of age, the family moved to Hinton, Alberta. The family still grew with two more siblings. Bill remained in Hinton long into his working years. Bill spent most of his working life in the mining industry, running heavy equipment.
When Bill was twelve years old he got his first guitar. Bill learned to play it by ear but could never read music. He could also play the harmonica. Bill always played country music, often he would be sporting a large cowboy hat and large belt buckle. Bill spent many hours playing, singing and entertaining family and friends.
Bill fell in Love with the Love of his life, Linda Rahn, in Hinton Alberta. They moved to Ontario for a few years. Bill moved to Fort McMurray, where he went to work in the mine. Linda became ill and was in a care home. He moved Linda to Edmonton as soon as he could, to be closer to him. Bill dedicated his life to her, visiting on a regular basis, and looking after her every need. Bill married Linda on September 3, 2008. Linda passed away in March, 2020. Bill spent the last month of his life back in Hinton. where his family and friends got to enjoy time with him.
Bill leaves to mourn his loss, his siblings, Kathy (Bob) Davies, Marlin (Linda) Bennett, Ross Bennett, Arlene Brown, John (Sonny) Bennett, Dena (Dave) Greanya, Kirk Bennett, and their respective families.
Children Yvonne Bennett- Cathy ( Ron) Vinkle, Ian Rahn, grandchildren Tony, Melissa, Jaden, Brian Bennett -Miranda Vinkle, great grandaughter- Aiyana Bennett as well as many other extended family.
Also his Fort McMurray family- Yan, Rocky and Yifan Xian.
There will be no funeral service held as per his wishes.
