THERESA ANNE GAUTHIER
It is with great sadness we announce Theresa Anne Gauthier, formerly of Edson, AB, passed away on December 24th, 2014 at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton at the age of 58 years.
Theresa was born in Athabasca, AB. Throughout her life she resided in Edson, Jasper, Hinton, and most recently in Wabamun, where she chose to retire. Theresa was very fond of the small town, close knit communities in this area. She enjoyed the small owner-operated shops, general stores, museums and farmers markets, and stopped in frequently.
Theresa worked in Early Childhood Development (Hinton). She was a server at Ernie O’s (Edson) and she successfully operated her own cleaning and decorating company (Edson).
Theresa loved to crochet. Most of the family and a great many of her friends can attest to her talent as they wrap themselves in blankets she lovingly crocheted for birthdays, weddings, or just because. She had a passion for gardening and incorporated flowers grown herself into her decorating business. She also enjoyed a good game of cards and lived for the visits of family and friends stopping in on the way to or from Edmonton.
Theresa leaves to mourn her passing: sons Clayton Gylander (Kassie) and Chad Gylander and most precious to “Nana” were her grandchildren: Jason, Hayden, Taylor and Hunter. She also leaves her brothers: Mike (Kim) Gauthier, Thomas Gauthier, David Gauthier, all of the Edson area and her brother Peter Gauthier of Grande Prairie, AB. Theresa leaves her sisters Kathy Gardner, Donna (Dennis) Roman, Dianne (Kevin) Pozobut all of Edson as well as Joanne (Mark) Voyer of Creston, BC and Patty (Ruben) Brehmer of Clairmont, AB. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends to mourn her loss.
Theresa leaves behind her dog Maddie to the care of her sons and grandchildren
Theresa was predeceased by her mother Sophie Gauthier in January 2011, by her father Flavian in 1972, brother –in – law Blaine Gardner, her uncle Bill Warwaruk, aunts Olga Borowski and Mary Dolanz and her aunt Anne Sololoski who passed away on the same day.
Donations can be made in her name to EARS (Edson Area Animal Rescue Society) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
A memorial service will be announced a later date by the family.
