For those who have known me and the one’s who really didn’t, please allow me to introduce myself: I was a man of wood and swept up sawdust for most of my adult life. Side trips from building and pulp cutting included fisherman, truck driver, grader operator and farmer. I loved my wife of 68 years, my family, nature, cribbage, horseshoes and dancing, to name a few.
I had many adventures, met many people, told lots of jokes, shared life stories and appreciated simple times. If you shared any of those times with me, I say thank you.
I leave with rusty joints, fluff in my ears and somewhat forgetful but I do leave with a smile on my face.

Ronald passed away quietly, surrounded by family, on November 18th, 2022. He was born September 17, 1930, in White Eagle District, Northern Saskatchewan, second child to Ronald and Ilena Harland. Ron is predeceased by his parents, his sister June, stepmother Evelyn Harland and sister Gloria Anderson. He is survived by sister Dianne (Les), brothers Jim (Mary), Gordon (Sandy), as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. Ron is also survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Maureen, his children Wendy (Craig), Wanda (Leon), Bob (Chris), Dan (Carlene), grandchildren Alana, Kell (Melissa), Ileana (Jeff), Anita, Dorin (Lisa), Emily (Don), Tianna (Terry), Sierra (Parker), Brett, Natasha, Breanne (Ben), great grandchildren, Francek, Claira, Ondrej, Rhyan, Rhys, Leonid, Elena, Ravenna, Hatti, Emmett, Sullivan and Harland.
The family extends much appreciation and thanks to Dr. Sorenson, Pine Valley Lodge and Hinton General Hospital for the compassionate care given to Ron this year.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Namao United Church, 24400 AB-37, Namao, AB. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM
