It is with great sadness, her family announces her passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Renee was Pre deceased by her father Howard, 1954. Her nephew Shannon, 1980. Her mother Kay, 1993. Her nephew Eddie, 2008.
Mourning her loss are her husband Al Petrie, her sons, Leigh, (Brenda), grandchildren Evan, and Kimlynn, Michael, (Annette), and her daughter Pamela, (Cory), grandchildren, Amanda, Harley, Shannon. Her sisters Margie and Joanne and their families. Also her step children, Jim Petrie, Allie and Denise, Pam and Kenton Fehr, Bernie and Claudie, Cathy Petrie and Bruce Szafron, Rick and Carolyn Petrie, Sandra and Lloyd Rusk, Heather Gatehouse, Lori and Sandy Schultz. Also her many step grandchildren and step great-grand children.
All will miss her greatly.
Renee touched the hearts of all she met across this land that she loved and protected. She gave those who met her instant respect and those who knew her, she gave the incentives and her best opinion, to reach for their dreams.
Renee loved her families, friends and surroundings with an undeterred passion and strength known to all she loved. She spoke with a voice of reason, logic, patience, understanding, hope and love, to all who could hear.
Renee took great pride in being a mother and grandmother as well as in her work for the town of Grande Cache, and the province of Alberta.
Renee served her country, with pride, as well, as a member of Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Navy with the rank of Lieutenant, (N). She managed supplies The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, # 62, "Niobe", in Bridgewater, N.S. and as Commanding Officer of R.C.S.C.C., #282, "Sea King" in Grande Cache.

Laugh when she passes, cause her troubles are over.
