It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Tufty, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Phyllis passed away in hospital on January 23, 2022, at the age of 87, with her daughters by her side. The family would like to thank Dr. Saincher and the Edson Hospital staff for their excellent care and compassion shown over the last few weeks of her life.
Phyllis leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Karen Brown (Robert) of Entwistle, and lla Miller (Kerry) of Edson. Nine grandchildren, Clayton Thomas, Gary Thomas, Melanie Thomas (whom she helped raise), Glenn Brown (Sharon), Chris Brown (Laurie), Carrie Finlayson (Robb), Nicole Tessier (Steve), Ian Miller (Amanda), and Brent Miller (Chrissy). Seventeen great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Jennessa Brown, Chris and Jake Brown, Malcolm, Cade, and Kinsley Finlayson, Makayla Sinclair-Miller,
Mason and Markkus Tessier, Hunter, Tyson, and Garret Miller, Christopher, Ty, Mannix, and Azlyn Miller.
Phyllis is survived by three brothers, Delbert, Wayne (Caroline), and Terry (Jean) Boles, and sister Linda (Ed) Robinson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, especially Michael Boles (whom she helped raise). She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Bud Tufty in 2006, daughter Penny Thomas in 1986, sister-in-law Norma Boles, parents Harold and Verna Boles, uncle Ivan Boles, and mother-in-law Wilma Tufty.
She lived and raised her family in the Entwistle area all of her adult life, with the last 16 years at the Sunshine Place Lodge in Evansburg, where she had many good friends and coffee buddies including staff, residents and friends in the community.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
