Patsy Delphine Thompson, 86 years from Edson, AB
Patsy was born in Sexsmith, Alberta to Fred and Mary Fredrickson. Patsy loved her Norwegian heritage and passed along many traditions that her family carries on today. Patsy liked to race bikes as a child and stock cars as an adult, winning several powderpuff races.
Pasty had several jobs, but most of her time was self employed with Gib. She lived many places in British Colombia and Alberta. She owned a store in Quesnel and Wells, BC. Finally settling in Bezanson, Alberta with lots of family nearby to keep her company and entertained. Patsy could hold her own in a battle of wits and played to win. Patsy eventually fell ill and moved to Edson. As she started feeling much better, she had many years of family gatherings and outings. She was very loved and adored by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patsy passed peacefully September 1, 2026, and will be deeply missed by ALL!
Patsy was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Oscar Thompson. They were married on April 2, 1957.
Patsy is also predeceased by her parents, her siblings Bernice Start, Alroy and Rodney Fredrickson.
She is survived by her children; Derek Thompson, Debra (Kelly) Burgess, Kim (Calvin) Derr, and Shelly (Randy hart) Snaddon. Her grandchildren; Jeffrey (Tiffany) Burgess, Nicole (Brett Meyer) Staves, Brandon (Kaeli MacLennan) Schwitz, Lauren (Jacob Theriault) Schwitz, Trent Thompson, Sasha (Brody Rokosh) Snaddon, Ashley (Dwight Strong) Snaddon. As well as her great grandchildren; Caleb Staves, Haden Staves, Ryker Meyer, Cora Burgess, Sophie Burgess, Rowan Theriault, and Zayna Strong.
A Service is to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10407 100 Street Grande Prairie, AB. On October 24 at 1 PM, with interment and fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to the Edson Community Foundation.
