SALZSAULER, Oswald “Ozzy”

1923 ~ 2017

After 94 active years, Ozzie, passed away on March 18, 2017. Born in Saskatchewan, lived through the “dirty thirties” and war years doing various jobs, like – working at lumber camps, helping on the parents’ farm in Saskatchewan. Later, in the Bonanza area, homesteaded to build an 1100 acre grain farm growing registered seed. Many winters, did carpentry in Vancouver, B.C. Owned a janitorial business at Winfield B.C. then retiring to Edson. He also was a “jack of all trades”, could fix any machine, radio or TV.

Survivors are his wife, Mary and son Bruce of Edson; son, Bob (Stacy) and grandchildren, Keenan and Kiana Salzsauler of Red Deer; sisters, Alvina (Winnie) Klowaty and Isabel McLennan. Richard (Gwen) Zwiefel and their families. Also has numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. God daughter, Margaret Fester of Hinton.

Ozzy was predeceased by his father, Edward Salzsauler; mother, Maria Zwiefel and step father Richard Zwiefel Sr. Also his brother Chris (formerly Salzsauler) Salter and nephew, Doyal Zwiefel.

Cremation has taken place and at Ozzy’s request, no service will be held. Interment with family at White Eagle Community Cemetery in Saskatchewan will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
