JOY. Nicholas Howard Wayne (Nick)
On October 20th, 2015, Nicholas (Nick) Joy of Wildwood, Alberta passed away at the age of 76 years.
Nick is survived by his loving wife and best friend Chris, his son Wayne (Angela) of Edson, Alberta, and his grandson Nicholas, his daughter Leighia (Little Peanut) and her husband Jason Lubarsky of Whitecourt and their sons Tyver and Garret, grandson Ryan, granddaughters Cara, Gabrielle and Crystal.
Also surviving is his brother Bob (Marilynn) and family, his brothers and sisters in law and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Nick was predeceased by his sons Nicholas in 2001 and Robert in 2007, grandson Kyle in 2011, his parents Anne Joy in 1978, Liberty Joy in 1981, his brother Sandy in 1994 and his paternal grandparents Nicholas and Mary Joy and maternal grandparents Cosmo and Matilda Rocchio.
Honoring his request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor Nick’s life was held on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edson with Father Varghese Munduvelil officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
Nick's wife Chris, son Wayne and daughter Leighia and families would like to acknowledge Kirstie Smolyk and the staff of Park Memorial for their kindness and assistance offered to them in honoring Nick's final wishes.
In lieu of other tributes, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 – 124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5M 0H9 in memory of Nick Joy would be appreciated.
