Vanderkooi, Nancy Christine
Born June 14, 1959 in Edson Alberta, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, at 55 years of age.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Clayton, children Shane (Ronda), Sheena (Nathan), Sarah (Corey) and Ryan, grandchildren Jenay, Clara, Morgan, Landon and Ryland, sister Marilyn (David) Kirkpatrick, brother Dennis (Johanne) Dekam and father Peter Dekam.
She was predeceased by her mother Jenny Dekam in 2011.
Nancy spent her entire life in Edson and surrounding area. Nancy and Clayton raised their children on the farm in Carrot Creek where she was also very active in her church and the community. She made several trips to Europe and loved to travel. Arizona was a favourite winter destination in recent years. Nancy was deeply loved by many and will be missed!
A Memorial service was held at The Christian Reformed Church in Edson on December 22nd, 2014 at 2 pm. Donations in Nancy's memory can be made to the Edson Community Care Foundation, for the New Palliative Care Room. Special thanks to Dr Sorenson and Tammy at the Hinton Cancer Clinic, also Marilyn Oishi and the Edson Homecare Team, without their help and support Nancy's wishes to remain at home would not have been possible.
