Mitchel Edward Pokeda passed away on June 30, 2022, in Hinton, Alberta at the age of 77.
Mitchel was born in Cutknife, Saskatchewan, on April 13, 1945. He was married to Marianne Thibodeau on September 2, 1995. He worked at the Hinton Pulp Mill for 35 years as a steam engineer. He loved to play the accordion and sing; he was part of the Foothills Male Choir. Very often he volunteered his time. In his quiet time, he loved to read.
Mitchel was survived by his wife Marianne Pokeda, his children Mitch(JR), Jason, Natalie (Terry), John (Trudy), Dennis (Jennifer) and daughter-in law Tammy Beeney; Grandchildren Alyssa (Eric), Jacob, Joshua, William, Megan, Brayden, Jenna, Brooke, Crista (Zack), Luke, Celina (Liam), Steel, Lyon, Makayla, Arielle, Hailey and Isabella; Great Grandchildren Grayson, Ben, Stella and Finley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mitchel’s parents were Paul and Christine Pokeda, his siblings: Paul (Ella), Harry, Robert (Rose), Larry (Pat), Fay (John), Jean (John) and Laura.
Mitchel was predeceased by his parents Paul and Christina Pokeda as well as his son-in law Todd Rose.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church in Hinton on July 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM
