Away
By James Whitcomb Riley
I cannot say and I will not say
That he is dead, he is just away.
With a cheery smile and a wave of hand
He has wandered into an unknown land;
And left us dreaming how very fair
Its needs must be, since he lingers there.
And you-oh you, who the wildest yearn
From the old-time step and the glad return-
Think of him faring on, as dear
In the love of there, as the love of here
Think of him still the same way, I say;
He is not dead, he is just away.
It is with great sadness the family of Max Kudrenecky say “Hasta luego, Dad.” Max passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 5, with family members present. He was 90 years old. When Max wasn’t busy travelling, he could be found about town in his bright red sweater, swimming at the pool, taking out books at the library, working out at the gym, enjoying coffee at Tim’s or supper at Smitty’s. He would want to be remembered saying “cheerio” with a smile and wave as he walked away whistling.
In honouring our Dad’s request, no services will be held.
Condolences can be forwarded to the family by visiting our website at www.foothillsmemorialchapel.com
