Axmann- Luzia (Lucy) Axmann

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of Luzia (Lucy) Axmann on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Royal Alexander Hospital at the age of 74 years. Lucy is survived by son, Axel, daughter in law, Sandra and grandchildren, Michelle and Peter. She is also survived by brother Franz Bott (sister in law, Luise), sister Erika Jaschinski (brother in law, Ernest), and brother Helmut Bott (sister in law, Gertraud). She is predeceased by her mother, Maria Bott, her father, Clemens Bott, brother Joseph Bott, sister Annaliese Duker, sister Mia Duker, brother Werner Bott. Lucy was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on September 25, 1938. She immigrated to Canada in 1969 and settled in Calgary. Lucy was well known for her caring heart, generous nature and for her infectious laugh and smile. Lucy was extremely proud of her 25 year tenure with the Calgary Police Service in the Maintenance Department. “Omi” was also extremely proud of her grandchildren and also of her many “adopted” children and grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping with her family and friends and just spending time in the sunshine. There are no words to express just how deeply she has touched our lives and the lives of others. There will be no funeral service as cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life was held on August 1st at Heritage Court in Edson, where Lucy resided. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to the Edson Medical Centre and Hospital staff, the Royal Alexander Hospital and ICU staff, and to Vivian Williams. We would also like to thank all of our friends and family that have been most supportive during this difficult time.
