SHIRLEY, Lucy Isabel
It is with deep regret that the family of Lucy Isabel Shirley announce passing on June 6th, 2014 in Mayerthorpe, Alberta at the age of 88 years.
Lucy is survived by her loving family; children Sylvia (Jack) McLaren and Sharon (George) Armitage of Edmonton, Alberta, Gilbert (Judy) Shirley and Janet and John Lenglet of Vernon, British Columbia and Ben (Debbie) Shirley of Whitecourt, Alberta as well as her daughter in law Sylvia Shirley of Edson, Alberta. There are seventeen grandchildren, twenty – five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, her siblings Allan (Gail) Dahlseide and family of Princeton, British Columbia and Noreen Fortin and family of Whitecourt, Alberta as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband Ben Shirley on March 8th, 2007, her son Gaylord Shirley on June 4th, 2007 and her grandson Mark Shirley on May 21st, 1995.
Following cremation, a memorial service took place on Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion in Mayerthorpe, Alberta with Pastor Ruth Lothotz officiating.
Private interment will precede this service.
In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Lucy Isabel Shirley.
