DOODY, Lorne Artie (Double D)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 82 years.
Lorne leaves behind his loving wife Joanne of 56 years; his three daughters; Darlene (Alvin) Beaner, Cheryn (Leon) McCallister, and Lynise Knight; his ten grandchildren: Bradley, Brandy, Christopher, Cole, Catlin, Cale, Curtis, Ciera, Sommer, and Kevin; nineteen great-grandchildren: Makayla, Mason, Madison, Jayden, Luxie, Sebastion, Shaylee, Ava, Aiden, Maddox, Novalee, Kaylyn, Braden, Jenessa, Tyler, Brody, Derrek, Jeff, and Jacey. Lorne is survived by two sisters: Irene (Walter) Long of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Alice Vezina of Montreal, Quebec; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant brother Danial (1937), his mother Muriel Patterson (1937), his father Charles Doody (1977), his son-in-law Darrell Shipalesky (2001), and son-in-law Albert Knight (2015).
Lorne was a passionate, caring, people person, who would stop and talk to anyone. His family was his life, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a love for music and was the happiest playing his guitar with his grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and memorial service celebrating Lorne’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, Edson, Alberta.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Lorne’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta, 14925 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 2P6 or to a charity of one’s choice.
