LINA CESCO
June 19, 1930 - September 10, 2026
Born in the Dolomite Mountains of Italy, Lina felt right at home when she arrived by train to marry her hometown sweetheart, Emilio. Married in Edmonton in May,1960, they started their lives together in Jasper, where Cathy (Doug) was born a year later. They purchased their home on Patricia Street, and soon Alan (Sue) arrived. Together, the family enjoyed fishing and going for picnics at the local lakes. Many trips around Lake Annette were shared into retirement and became a favourite for grandchildren Kayla (David) and Jenna (Lucas).
Lina & Emilio Cesco celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2010. Sadly, Emilio passed later that same year. She remained independent in their Patricia Street home, continuing to cook, garden and shovel snow. She moved into Alpine Summit Seniors in 2020 where she comfortably enjoyed her new apartment—with her chair right next to the window to enjoy the mountain views and community action. Often sharing stories and laughs, never forgetting a name. Grateful for every act of friendship, kindness and care.
On Sept 10, Lina passed away peacefully at the Jasper Seaton Hospital. Now an Angel in heaven, reuniting with Emilio, parents Angelo & Alice, grandparents and sister Elena, Ginevra, aunts, uncles and cousins. Grandpups Jammer, Zuke, Bella & Ella, and neighbour pups Sammy & Nero will all be greeting her arrival to heaven.
The family gives our deep gratitude to the caring teams at Evergreen Alpine Summit and Seaton hospital. Grazie. Prego tante.
