O’CONNOR, LILY LEE
Lily Lee O’Connor, 81, of Hinton, AB passed away on December 30, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lily was born on August 22, 1932 to Charlie Lee and Vandeline Sterling, in Moravia, Clarendon on the island of Jamaica.
She is survived by her daughter Paulette (Stuart) Lissel of Hinton, AB; sister Joy of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Anthony (Sabrina) O`Connor of Airdrie, AB; Karl (Chelsie) Lissel of Hinton, AB; Katherine (Kevin) Pickrell of Fort McMurray, AB; Amberlee (James) Swayda of Drumheller, AB; Ariel (Benji) Lissel of Hinton, AB; Jess (Ari) Fixler of Calgary, AB; Lauren (Casey) Caswell of Hinton, AB; and Cailin (John) Eaton of St. Albert, AB.
Lily also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, Jared, Antoine, Gabriel, Brendan, Hunter, Matthew, Kyran, Harrison, Jake, Myrrah, Lily, and Michael; as well as numerous loving friends.
Lily was preceded in death by her parents, and son Michael. Her enormous personality and love of cooking will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all her family.
A memorial service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hinton, AB on January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am., with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hinton Healthcare Centre, 1280 Switzer Drive, T7V 1V2, Hinton, AB.
The family wishes to thank the supportive and caring staff of the Healthcare Centre, especially Dr. Lee Jones and family for their thoughtful and loving care of our mother and grandmother.
