CARTER, Kenneth Omey

Our beloved Husband, Father and Papa, “We will miss you”

On April 3rd, 2012, Kenneth Carter of Hinton, Alberta, beloved husband of Edith passed away at the age of 83 years in the palliative care suite at Hinton Heath Care Centre.

Besides his loving wife of 61 years, he is survived by his four children; Linda (Vic), Pat (Bob), Gary (Kim) and Dale as well as seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Lloyd (Ivy) and Harvey (Diane)

Ken was born in Manitoba on March 10th, 1929, raised his children on the farm, worked at other jobs before retiring in Hinton to be with family.

He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, camp, read and spend many hours playing guitar, fiddle and harmonica.

As an act of compassion, Ken donated blood and tissue to the Cancer Tumor Bank in Edmonton for research and study.

He was a “kind, humble, gentle spirit” who will be sadly missed by family and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private “Celebration of Life” service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of tributes, donations if desired may be made to the Palliative Care at Hinton Health Care Centre, 1280 Switzer Drive, Hinton, Alberta, T7V 1V2 in memory of Kenneth Omey Carter.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dreyer and the nurses at the Hinton Health Care Centre for your care, compassion and support that you gave to Ken and our family during his illness.
