The family is sad to announce the peaceful passing of Josephina (Josie) Gering on January 27, 2022, in the Edson Hospital.
At the age of 87 years, Josie put up a brave battle against congenitive heart failure, however, related symptoms finally won out.
She was predeceased by her husband Alexander (Alex) Gering 5 years prior, as well as a number of others on the Gering side.
Josie’s main loves were her family, husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening (both flowers and vegetables), spending time with friends and relatives, curling and cards. She is survived by her children Darryl (Heather), Robin (Brenda) and Neil. Surviving siblings include Joseph Aschenmeier (Barb), Marlene Schmidek, Emilie Joy and Ed Gering. She had 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions no service will be held. A Memorial Celebration will be set for a later date if restrictions relax.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Samaritan Society of Edmonton may be offered in Josie’s memory.
