JD Dion of Hinton, Alberta succumbed to a long battle with cancer on August 8, 2010 at Hinton Hospital at the age of 86.
JD was born in Spirit River, Alberta on December 18, 1923. Over the years, career opportunities led JD and his family to many communities including Peace River, Fort St. John and Hinton, where he and his wife Anne resided for 27 years.
JD was predeceased by his son, Gary and his loving wife Anne. He is survived by his four daughters, four sons, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held on August 13, 2010 at Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church in Hinton, Alberta .
In lieu of other tributes the wishes of the family, are to have donations made to either The Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710-10123 99 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 3H1 or to the Cross Cancer Institute at Alberta Cancer Foundation c/o Cross Cancer Institute 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2 in JD Dion’s memory.
