Joseph Louis Danek, a long time resident of Hinton, AB was born on June 20, 1931 in Francova Lhota, Czechoslovakia and passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on August 14, 2016 at the age of 85 years in Edmonton, AB.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian, his children, Rose (Dave) Jacobsen, Rick (Norene) Danek, David (Debby) Danek, Mark (Janice) Madsen, Sharalee (Marty) Woodhead.
He is leaving behind a rich heritage in his 15 Grandchildren, Tiffany Jacobsen, Matthew (Abbey) Jacobsen, Jordan (Susan) Jacobsen, Travis (Rosalie) Danek, Bryce (Malissa) Danek, Chelsea (Benedict) Canale, Sheila Danek, Sean (Jean) Ritchie, Samantha Ritchie, Scott Ritchie, Kyle (Amie) Madsen, Jenna (Brendon) Carbert, Meagan Madsen, Craig Woodhead (Jessica McCarthy), Cianna Rosvold (Addison Pighin).
Also, 10 great-grandchildren – Spencer and Chloe Danek, Isla and Kai Danek, Theo Canale, Levi, Addison, and Chloe Jacobsen, Ella Rosvold, Ivy Pighin.
Joe is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Rosalie Danek, his brothers, Anthony, Walter and his sister Mary and his first wife, Ester Danek (Kulhavy).
A Celebration of Life was held at the Gateway Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for the Hinton Health Care Foundation c/o 11-107 Swanson Drive, Hinton, AB T7V 1H1.
