John Nick Boychuk

March 25, 1948 - February 13, 2016

In loving memory of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather....

John "John-Boy" was born on March 25, 1948 in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. John was pre-deceased by his mother, Mary, his father, Nick, and his mother in law, Helen Zaharychuk ("The General").

John met his beautiful bride to be, Delaine "Peaches" (Zaharychuk) in Canora, Saskatchewan in 1967 at the age of 19. They were married the following year. The couple resided initially in Wynyard but chose Saskatoon to raise their family and spend the majority of their years together. He is survived and greatly missed by his brother, Michael, sister in law, Sherry and their children Jessie (Jennifer) Boychuk (Kaidyn & Kohyn) and Jamie (Jamie) Adelman (Emmie & Paxton) as well as numerous cherished cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

John spent many years traveling in his Peterbilt and gathering numerous life long friends during his career as a trucker and had remained in touch with many of them up until his passing. As much as he enjoyed his career it was when he and Delaine retired and moved to Robb, Alberta that he focused on what would become his greatest joy.....being Grandpa. He is survived by and will be forever remembered and missed by his children, David "Junior" (Gina “Gina-baby") Boychuk and Michelle "Chicken Woman" (Derek "Sport") Pellerin and his grandchildren, Nathan "Tsootsie" & Garet "Little Monkey" Boychuk, James "Pooskin Pumpkin", Jackson "Bearcub" & Ryder "Precious Gorgeous" Pellerin. John leaves behind a legacy of extreme kindness and limitless generosity. His friends, immediate family and numerous extended families carry with them many warm memories of wonderful fishing holidays, delicious "unique" culinary experiences, amusing stories retold, embarrassing nicknames, colourful cursing and tremendous love.

His family will say their farewells privately in lieu of a funeral as per his wishes and will hold a Celebration Of Life in the coming spring. In lieu of any floral tributes please spend a little time sharing your memories of him.

"Please don't cry because I am gone...instead be happy that I was here"

In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Association, 10985 – 124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5M 0H9 or to Alberta Diabetes Foundation, HRIF - East 1-020, 1A University Campus NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 9Z9, in memory of John Nick Boychuk.
