KEHLER, Jake S.
On December 6th, 2013 our beloved father Jake Kehler of Edson, Alberta passed away suddenly at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his family, his daughters Marilyn (Will) Imanse of Mexico and their children Stacey and Wade; Shirley (Michael) McCallum of Nakusp, British Columbia; Dianna (Phil) Riggs of Edmonton and their children Ash and Jay; Marilyn (Jim) Cunningham of Qualicum Beach, British Columbia and their children Ryan and Lindsay; son Don Williams’ children Alan, Shelley and Cassandra and Sheila Reinderhoff’s son Nathan. Also surviving are his siblings: Art (Faith) Kehler and family of Kamloops, British Columbia, Ann Williams and family of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Elizabeth Plett and family of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Mary “Toots” (Nick) Lysy and family of Black Creek, British Columbia, sisters in law Lorraine Kehler and family of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Mary Kehler and family of Campbell River, British Columbia. There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn as well.
Jake was predeceased by the love of his life, his first wife Joan in 1988 and his second wife Helen in 2007 as well as his sons Terry in 1969, Ritchie in 1971, Don in 2001 and daughter Sheila in 2008. Also predeceased by his brothers John, Abe, Henry, and sisters Katie and Laura.
Funeral services took place on Thursday December 12th, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Joe Wynne Branch Royal Canadian Legion in Edson with Rev. Leslie Halliwell officiating. Interment to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Edson, Alberta. In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be directed to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, 8440 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta - T6G 2B7 in memory of Jake Kehler.
