It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our tall, blonde, and beautiful mother Heather Urquhart Wilkinson (nee Forbes) age 89 on June 30, 2022, in Jasper Alberta.
Heather was born and raised in Trail B.C. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd. Heather was the youngest of 8 siblings and is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Heather was raised in the Little Scotland area of Trail B.C. Upon completion of high school, she moved to Calgary Alberta to study nursing at the Holy Cross Hospital. Her nursing career eventually returned her to Trail where she worked primarily in obstetrics and geriatrics, as Heather would often say “I cared for my patients coming and going”.
Heather was a fixture in the amateur sports community in Trail and volunteered countless hours for UNICEF as well as a variety of other charities.
It was in Trail she met her husband Lloyd and raised her 2 children Paul and Shawna. After Lloyds Death, Heather moved to Calgary and then eventually settled in Jasper Alberta.
Heathers penchant for long walks and her friendly demeanour make her a local favourite in Jasper. Heather’s wonderful sense of humour and love of laughter will be greatly missed.
Heathers family would like to thank the incredible staff at the Alpine Seniors lodge and the doctors and nurses at the Jasper Healthcare Centre.
At Heathers request, there will not be a service and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local Animal shelter.
