WILLIAMS, HAROLD MASON
July 13, 1922 – September 30, 2010
With great sadness we announce the passing of Harold Mason Williams on September 30, 2010 at the age of 88 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Harold was born July 13, 1922 in Liverpool, England. Harold and his wife Phil immigrated to Edmonton in November 1953 where they lived for 4 years. They then moved to Hinton, Alberta where they have happily resided for the past 53 years. He was a long time employee of Weldwood of Canada, retiring in 1986. Harold will always be remembered for his sense of humor and thoughtfulness of others and will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis of 62 years; son Gordon (Michelle) and granddaughter, Olivia; daughter Anita Visscher, granddaughter Chelsea and grandson, Bradley; brother in law, Hugh McIntyre; niece Pam Speer (Barry); as well as many dear friends.
Harold was predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth; brothers, Norman, Stanley and sister Marjorie.
A memorial was held at the Good Companions Hall on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM. In keeping with Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
In Harold’s memory, donations may be made to Hinton Healthcare Centre c/o Palliative Care,1280 Switzer Drive, Hinton, Alberta T7V 1V2 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
