Frank Whitney (Whit) Barrow
After a courageous battle with dementia, Whit passed away peacefully on January 17, 2018 in Hinton at 75 years of age. Whit was born in Edmonton and raised in Jasper, Alberta by his mother, Catherine Lewis and father, Frank Barrow. In his teens, Whit moved to Edmonton and worked as an apprentice until he received his Journeyman Electrician Certificate in 1963, later completing his Masters. Working at the Hinton Pulp Mill, he retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
Whit is survived by his wife of 55 years, (Helen) Maureen (nee Gahan), his children: Patti (Stephen), Sean, Glen (Tanya), Rory (Neil) and Rob; and grandchildren: Mathew, Kelli, Meagan, Kaitlyn, Emily, Taryn and Tristan.
A memorial service celebrating Whit's life will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 1:00 pm at The Hinton Centre.
As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Whit, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
Whit's calm demeanor and sense of humour will be missed by all.
