SUMNERS, FAY ISABEL
It is with heartfelt sadness we wish to announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Fay Isabel (Michener) Sumners (nee Bickford,) in Edson, Alberta, on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011. She is survived by her sons Roy (Gerry) Michener of Seba Beach, Ab., Wayne (Jacquie) Michener of Salt Spring Island, BC, and Aubrey (Patrice) Michener of Peers, Ab., nine grandchildren, Cory, Shane, Neil, Karen, Mindy, Nigal, Norman, Jeannie Fay and Clarice, along with eight great grandchildren. Fay also leaves two brothers, Glen (Helen) Bickford and Ken (Pat) Bickford, five sisters – in law; Jean Bickford, Lila Bickford, and Rosie (Michener) Nichols all of Red Deer, Alberta, Marion (Iver) Layden of Evansburg, Alberta, and Vera Michener of Abbottsford, B. C. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands Norman Michener and Wallace (Ewart) Sumners, sister Betty Mosebach and brothers Earl and Tommy Bickford.
A celebration of our mother’s life will take place on Saturday, September 10TH, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mackay Community Hall, MacKay, Alberta with Rev. Lexie Nash officiating. Cremation has taken place and Interment will take place at a later date, in Red Deer, Alberta.
In lieu of other tributes, the family suggests donations be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Fay Isabel Sumners.
