STROEBEL, Ernest Johann
On February 18th, 2016, Ernest Johann Stroebel, beloved husband of Emily passed away peacefully at home in Edson, Alberta at the age of 88 years.
Besides his loving wife Emily, Ernest is survived by his son Leonard (Karen) Stroebel of Grande Cache, Alberta and granddaughters Sydni, Alexi and Halli Stroebel of Edmonton, Alberta. Nephew Reinhard (Heidi) Baer & family of Germany and Niece Rosewitta (Jurg) Kaufmann & family of Switzerland.
As well as a host of friends and fellow story tellers left to mourn.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents Leonhard and Babette Stroebel, his son Wolf and sister Gratel Baer.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on February 26 1:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (4407-7th Ave) in Edson, Alberta with Rev. Ann Salmon officiating.
In lieu of other tributes donations if desired may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in memory of Ernie.
Though blindness restricted him, Ernie’s heart and soul were with the wild in the forests and mountains. As well, Ernie’s dedication to his family kept him with us for 89 years.
