Elizabeth “Beth” Marshall (nee Pettigrew)
September 3, 1915 – February 10, 2012
Beth was born and grew up in Edson, Alberta. In 1939 she earned a Diploma in Home Economics from the Alberta School of Argiculture in Vermillon. Beth married Dale Marshall in 1945 and lived in Edson and Edmonton until 1999 when they moved to Prince Rupert to be near daughter Dr. Linda Marshall Lutz (Dr. Richard Lutz)
Beth enjoyed hosting many family members in her Edmonton home as they came to shop in the “Big City” until Dale retired from the CNR. She enjoyed many happy days travelling Canada from the Arctic as well as to both East and West Coasts in their motor home. Early in retirement Beth acted as company secretary and treasurer as they travelled Western Canada recording bird and nature sounds for Cymar Films, their successful retirement venture.
During retirement, they spent many happy winters in Deserama Mobile Ranch in Mesa, AZ, where they made many close friends and had some of the best time of their lives.
Beth enjoyed good health until she suffered a heart attack two weeks before her passing.
Beth is survived by daughter Linda (Richard), grandchildren Grant (Marla), Brian (Charmaine) and Karin, great grandchildren Brooke and Amara Lutz, Kai and Trey McDonald as well as brothers –in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Beth was predeceased by her husband Dale in 2008 and brother Bob in 2007.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Foothills Memorial Chapel of Edson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Edson, Alberta.
