Born on January 28, 1932, to Chris and Clara Atkinson, Doreen Joyce King passed away surrounded by family on May 14, 2026, in Edson, AB.
Doreen loved the outdoors, spending time in her garden and flowerbeds. Her children remember growing up in town, always sharing freshly baked bread with the neighborhood kids. In her later years she so enjoyed when her son brought his dog to visit, which was a highlight for many of the folks at the Edson Continuing Care that she shared these moments with.
Left to mourn her loss are her children Linda, James and Robert with their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on May 21, 2026, at the Glenwood Cemetery in Edson, AB at 11:00 AM. Rev. Ron DeLeeuw will be officiating.
There will be an invitation extended to share fellowship and refreshments with the family at Bear Lake cabin #20 following the Interment.
