CHUIKO, Daniel
On July 5th, 2016 Dan Chuiko, long time resident of Hinton, Alberta passed away at the age of 80 years. Dan was born on March 1st, 1936 to John and Mary Chuiko.
He grew up on the family farm until he married Frances Styacko in 1963. The moved to Hinton, Alberta and bought Johnson’s Motel and Trailer Court where they worked for almost 40 years.
He volunteered with the Hinton Fire Department for 18 years and was an active member of the community, involved in many organizations. Dan enjoyed travelling, hunting, fishing and visiting with friends and family.
Dan was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Frances, his parents John and Mary, his sisters Sophie and Nellie and his brother Peter.
Dan is survived by his brothers William (Emily), Paul (Lydia), Mike (Meredith) and his sister Elizabeth (Ed). There are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as many friends.
Funeral services for Dan took place on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church, Hinton, Alberta with Pastor Bill Bulger officiating, with interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Hinton.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations in Dan’s name can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
