It is with profound sadness and with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Carol was born on October 4. 1945 in Kelowna B.C., to Allan and Helen Mee. She passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2022, in Jasper, Alberta, at the age of 76.
Carol grew up in Penticton B.C., where she graduated from Pen High. After High School, Carol and her best friend Marolyn traveled east to Jasper, Alberta, to work for the summer. This is where she met a very handsome Italian fellow named John (Giovanni) Novelletto. The love they had for one another was admirable and rare. They pledged their love and vows to one another on October 30th, 1965 and made Jasper their home. In March of 1968 they welcomed their first child, daughter Jo-Ann. In April of 1972 they welcomed their second child, Teresa Lynne. They completed their family in 1978 with the birth of their third daughter, Angela Marie. Family was very important to both of them, and Carol’s children always came first no matter what.
Carol had many loves in life besides family. Carol had a very green thumb and had one of the most beautiful gardens in the town of Jasper. Tourists used to love taking photographs of her beautiful yard while having a wonderful visit with both her and John. Carol also loved to sew and knit. She made several sets of jammies, beautiful dresses, amazing Halloween costumes, doll clothes and much more. She knit beautiful sweaters, hats and mitts for her family. Carol seemed to be able to create anything even on her first attempt. Her kitchen always was filled with wonderful smells that welcomed all who were invited to break bread. She was very talented.
Carol leaves behind her three loving daughters, Jo-Ann (Scott) Sherlow, Teresa (Michael) Cardinal and Angela Marie Novelletto. She also leaves behind her greatest joy, her grandchildren, Mikyla Rae (Casey) Cleary, Cailyn Jessie Sherlow and Danika Addison Cardinal. Carol also loved all her grand dogs. Carol also leaves behind her beloved Sister Sandy Swanson and many nephews and nieces.
Carol was predeceased by the love of her life John and her parents.
Carol was always smiling, laughing and always willing to open her arms and her home to anyone that needed it. She leaves behind special people in her life that were just like family. Fred and Rose Marie Wall always had a special place in her heart, along with Alden Bradley. John and Carol always had an open door for their daughter's friends, often taking one or two of them in when having troubles at home. She gave a shoulder to cry on and a warm embracing hug. She made the world a better place. An angel on earth.
At Carol's request there will be no funeral or service of any kind. She wanted people to remember her in happy times.
