BROUGHTON, Careena Leah
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Careena Leah Broughton of Edson, Alberta on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at the age of 30 years.
Careena is survived by her daughter Eva McColm, her parents Sharon and Brian Broughton all of Edson, Alberta, her brothers Taro (Catherine) Broughton and their children Coren, Keanna and Ember and Kiley Broughton, all of Golden, British Columbia, her half sister Raven (Cory) Shackleton of Kelowna, British Columbia and half brother Chris (Mindy) Van Dulken and his child Russell of Raymond, Alberta.
Also surviving is her maternal grandmother Maud Bryant as well as Careena’s birth grandmother Joice Van Dulken. There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn her passing.
Careena was predeceased by her birth mother Laura Matteo in 2007; maternal grandfather Les and paternal grandparents Stan and Barbara Broughton as well as her birth grandfather Joe Van Dulken.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to: The M.S. Society of Canada, Okanagan Chapter, 1855 Kirschner Road, Suite 203, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 4N7, or to a charity of one's choice in memory of Careena Leah Broughton.
