Mullin, Homer (Bud)
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Homer (Bud) Mullin on April 24, 2017 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Homer (Bud) Mullin was born July 16, 1928 in Gaspe, Quebec where he met and married his wife, Ann. Bud and Ann started a family which eventually grew to two boys and three girls. Bud worked in the woods, then started to run a welding shop and construction business. In 1978 the family moved to Edson, Alberta. Bud worked at Luscar Mine. He later started and ran Bud Mullin & Sons Trucking. After selling the trucks, Bud ran Cat for IH Davis and worked for Stan Bud Construction. He then became a partner with his daughter Tracey, son-in-law Steve in A & M Drilling which had a rig drilling coal exploration holes. In retirement, Bud stayed busy by assisting his children with yard work, snow removal, gardening, and greenhouse work. He also went to Gaspe for several years in June to fish for salmon.
Bud is survived by sister Sarah and brother Norman Jr; children, Lorne (Debbie), Cathy (Lloyd) Cooper, Lynne (Tony Hammond), and Tracey (Steve) Ashburn; grandchildren, Chris (Nicki) Mullin, Brandon Mullin, Adam (Amanda) Taillon, Dani (Danny) Cooper, Rhody (Sage) Cooper, Steven, Parker and Hunter Ashburn; great grandchildren Megan, Brayden, Kamryn, Kori, Olivia, Terrace, Amery, Avril and Keely.
Bud was predeceased by his parents Norman and Nora Mullin, his wife Ann in 2011, his son Larry in 1994, sisters Daphne, Rhoda, Greta and Dora.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 28 at 10:30 am in the Foothills Memorial Chapel, 5040-6th Avenue, Edson, AB.
