MCLEOD, Bob
February 7th, 1944 – September 28th, 2010
It is with great sadness and grief that we mourn the loss of our wonderful father, Bob Mcleod. He passed away peacefully at home in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Tuesday September 28th, 2010 at the age of 66 years. Bob was the loving husband to his wife, Patricia, father to sons, Dane (Kim) of Edmonton, Derek and Alison Mcleod of Calgary and daughter Andrea and Geoff Stewart of Calgary; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, Ashleigh, Connor, Ethan, Gavin, Deanna, Miah, Maxwell, Megan, Keira, Karson, Presley and Cruz. His family extended to Gregory (Lorraine) Barber of New Brunswick, Tracey Barber of Grande Prairie, Amanda Barber (Chad Zwaryczuk) of Grande Prairie, Ashlynn, Cassius, as well as many family and friends. Bob was born on February 7th, 1944 in Edson, Alberta to Vernon and Esther Mcleod. Bob spent his entire life working on the Coal Branch for the CN and in his early years, raising his family with then wife Dawn Mcleod. Together they ran the family businesses, Mohawk gas station and Video Plus in Edson, Alberta. His parents and sister Terry predeceased him. We have all come together to support one another as we mourn the terrible loss we feel. Bob was an incredible man with a heart of gold who has always been there for anyone who needed him. Please keep Bob’s memory in your hearts by remembering and talking about the times you spent with him. Remember his unconditional love for his family and his passion for fishing. We are so thankful to have had him in our lives and his spirit will live on forever in our hearts. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson, Alberta. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a video tribute for Bob and a luncheon. Bob loved beautiful things, including flowers, but much more than that he loved to help. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the donor’s choice, or make someone in your life a little happier with something you do. “In this time of loss and reflection we celebrate the joys of a life well lived, mourn the loss of a light in this world” ~ anonymous
