With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Louise Snow (nee Gordon) at the age of 82, in Edson, Alberta, on December 22, 2024.
Born September 3, 1942, in Lundar, Manitoba, to parents David and Louise Gordon, Barbara was the second of 7 children: Diane, Linda, Wayne, Glen, Allen and Frances.
Barbara was married to William Snow August 12, 1961, in Atikokan, Ontario. They had 5 children, Darril, William Jr, David, Margaret and Donald.
Barbara and family moved to Edson in 1978, where she worked at Luscar mines for many years, then joined William working with Purolator until 2004. Then she was the shipper/receiver at Walmart from 2004 to 2009, when she retired.
Barbara loved to make tiny hats and hand them out to everyone she saw. You will see tiny hats in a lot of places throughout Edson. She made hats for all occasions.
Barbara loved her pups, she had her favorites: There were Lucy and Sunny, she could be seen walking them everyday when the weather was good.
Barbara is survived by her children David, Margaret and Donald (Tracy), her grandchildren Jordan (Michelle), Darcy, Kay-Lee, Tucker (Danielle), Tara (Ryan), Bruce and Brayden (Nicole). She was also a very proud great grandmother. She was also survived by sister Linda (Glen) and brother Allen (Lynell), in-laws Lorena (Don), Bob (Mary), Bonnie and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband William of 48 years, sons Darril and William Jr. parents David and Louise, sisters Diane and Frances, brothers Wayne and Glen, in-laws Stan and Johnena, as well as Mary (Bob).
There will be no funeral at this time. Barbara will be interred in Atikokan in May 2025 with her husband William.
