Anna Stitzenberger was born to John and Pauline on October 17, 1933. She was one of 4 children in a family of German immigrants. She was a happy child in a family that worked for everything they needed. She knew from a young age that farming life was not for her. She finished grade 8 in the north Rosevear School and then moved to Edson to board with a family and worked hard to finish school. She moved to Edmonton and worked as an office worker for the provincial government from 1952 until 1991. She retired and moved back to Edson to live in the house that her mom and dad built.
She always knew the value of hard work and was very aware of the value of a dollar. She loved palm reading and was confident in her ability to judge people. She had a great sense of humour and deep faith in the lord. Right till she passed away she had a sharp wit and was not afraid to make her nephews the butt of her jokes. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2026.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, John and Pauline, her sister and husband Paulina and Harold Kubbernus and her niece Renee, as well as her sister-in-law Sylvia.
Anna is survived by her brother Joe, brother Carl and wife Betty and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a very curious mind and always remembered dates with incredible accuracy. She always asked what life was all about and did you think there was other life in the universe. She walked everywhere and never wanted to rely on others. She lived on her own right till the end.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A private family Interment will take place at the Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM
