GRAVEL, ALFRED PETER
It comes with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather and great grandfather Alfred Gravel of Hinton, Alberta. He touched so many hearts with his love, kindness, wisdom and sense of humour.
He will truly be missed and remembered always.
He was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Alfred Gravelle, his brothers; Alphonse Gravel, Edgar “Bud” Gravel, Cyril “Bonhomme” Gravel, Edward Gravel, sisters; Evelyn Callihoo and Violet L’Hirondelle.
Alfred leaves to mourn, his wife and best friend of 55 years, Elsie Gravel and his loving family, sons; Dale Gravel (Sheryl), Darryl Gravel (Dawn), and Alfred’s daughters; Darlene Grenier (Gilles), Deanne Bye (Michael). Alfred leaves behind his precious grandchildren; Byron, Boyd (Kendra), Jenessa (Jamie), Brandon, Ashlei (Kyle), Taylor, Aaron (Aimee), Casidy and Alex; Jesse (Dusty) and Tyler (Morgan); as well as great grandchildren; Jayce, Tyson, Nicholas, Ty, Madison, J D, Tyson and Kianna. Alfred also leaves behind his sister Margaret Callihoo (George) and brother Mel Gravel (Carol). Alfred leaves behind his fathful dog, Dixie, who was never far from his side and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place on October 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church in Hinton, Alberta with Father Brian Inglis officiating. Burial followed at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hinton, Alberta.
The family suggests, that if so desired, a donation can be made in Alfred’s Gravel’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta and the N.W.T. 10985 124 Street Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9.
