Vernon Chester Nordtvedt

1928 ~ 2017

Vernon Nordtvedt passed away in Edson, Alberta peacefully with his loving family at his side on June 2, 2017.  He was 89 years old.

Vernon was born on March 17, 1928 in Mayerthorpe, Alberta.

He will be remembered and always loved by his loving family.  He is survived by his spouse June (Fillmore); his children Donna (Rick Shank), Mary, Brian and Norman (Soraya Strawson).  Also surviving are his grandchildren Ryan Shank, Nicole (Steve Holland), Charmaine and Katelyn Nordtvedt. Also survived by two great grandchildren Cohen and Mikalea Holland.  The family also recognizes his brother in law Edward Fillmore.

He is survived by his sister Ruby Gray and family of Rosedale, B.C and Maxine Clough of Maple Ridge, B.C. 

He is predeceased by his father Carl Olaf Nordtvedt and his mother Selma  Nordine Nordtvedt (Norman) and his brother Lester Nordtvedt.

The family will be holding a private service in his memory. He will be interred at the Edson Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
