Mr. Angus John Donkin passed away in Edson, Alberta on January 5, 2018 at the age of 79.
Angus was born in Condor, Alberta on February 14th, 1938 to his parents Richard and Margaret Donkin. He is survived by his four sons, Mitch (Betty), Mark (Kathy), Murphy (Dwayne) and Matt (Lanaia); his four grandchildren: Darren (Jen), Krystina (Dave), Melissa (Blake) and Stephanie (Kerri) along with his great grandchildren Barrett, Mackenzie, Charlie and Chase. Angus is also remembered by his sisters Janet (Dean) and Velda, his brother in law Sid and numerous nieces and nephews.
Angus was predeceased by his parents Richard and Margaret, sister Laverne, brother Ian, brother Dick and Dick’s wife Pat, niece Frances, nephews Ken, Ron, and Rick.
Angus was raised on a farm and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, camp, cooking for his family, raise horses and later in life he developed a love to ride his motorcycle. Angus was involved in many community organizations and he had a strong determination to help others in need. Angus’s greatest passion in life was the love for his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Edson United Church on Thursday, January 11 at 1:30 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be make to The Lung Association of Alberta, Edson United Church or the Parkland Lodge Expansion- Evergreens Foundation.
Special thank yous’ to Dr. Rudi Gous and the doctors and nurses in the Edson medical community for the care, compassion and love that you gave Angus during the past years. Big thank yous’ to the management, staff and residents at the Parkland Lodge for your care, kindness, friendship and accepting Angus as a member of the Lodge family.
