It is with great sadness we let you know of the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Yvette Vinson. Our sorrow is only eased by knowing that she was ready to go and eager to get on to her next adventure. She was the heart and soul of our family and there is a big empty place without her here.
At 98 years she has lived a good life, always giving of herself, always thinking of others and showing her love in so many ways to anyone who needed it. She was born to Sam and Beatrice Majeau of Lac La None, Sept 27, 1925 and passed on Dec. 9, 2023 at 4:55 PM in Hinton, Alberta. She met her husband – Tom Vinson, in Jasper in 1947. They were married and moved to Brule in 1947 and she lived on Rocky Mountain Ranch raising 7 children. The door was always open at the Vinson home. Her proudest achievement was hiking the Chilkoot Trail at 70 years old and her many awards for quilts, afghans, sweaters, Christmas stockings and vests from the seniors games.
Yvette is predeceased by her husband Tom, daughter Noreen Vinson, her sons in law Ron Moore and Keith Foster and great grandchild Aubrey Michaud. She is survived by her children Laura Vinson and David Martineau, Nona Foster, Lavone and Wald Olson, Lenore Vinson and Randy Babala, Tom and Shawn Vinson, Deeni and Dan Leonard, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all.
The Vinson family would sincerely like to thank Dr. Andria Rahn for stepping in when we really needed her. We would also like to thank the staff at Continuing Care for their wonderful care and treatment, especially Lisa for her TLC, making a very hard time a little easier.
A celebration of Yvette’s life will be held in the spring when travel is better.
