It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of William Wasel (Bill) Velichko on December 7th, 2020 at the age of 85.
Bill is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Alison Velichko, together for 64 years; children David (Bobbi) Velichko, Debra (Ken) Dickson; five grandchildren, Shallen, Danny, Travis, Jody and Billy-Jo and ten great grandchildren.
He is survived by two brothers: Mike (Betty Ann) Velichko and Peter (Margaret) Velichko, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by parents Mike and Mary Velichko; sisters Sophie, Ann and Katie and brother Ed.
Born in Belis, Ab on April 2nd, 1935, Bill moved with his family first to North Rosevear at a young age where he attended school, and then to Edson until the age of 15 when he quit and went to work.
Bill was a man of many trades; Trucker, Logger, Cat-skinning, Contract Bus Driver, Yellowhead County Councillor and Farmer.
He was a man of integrity; a man of few words, but what he did say was common sense and straight to the point. A person knew exactly where he stood with Bill and he was deeply respected for this.
He will be missed.
Cremation has already taken place and due to COVID-19 restrictions a memorial service will be held at a later date.
